PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN - Three crew members were injured when a fishing trawler exploded in flames in the sea off the coast of Prachuap Khiri Khan on Thursday night. The trawler Pongsombat fuel was being refuelled off tambon Auo Noi in Muang district when the explosion occurred around 8.30pm, Thai media reported on Friday. They were rescued by another fishing vessel owned by the same operator. The owner of the burned out vessel, Somjit Sombatsiri, 65, said it was working out of Samut Sakhon. He said the explosion occurred when fuel came into contact with an overheated turbo pump.
